Rhinestone flower

Hey all! Hope you had a great weekend!

Today I have a mani to share that I decided to go a little out of my comfort zone and add some rhinestones too.  I cheated a little to make the flower design as I knew I couldn't free hand it completely so I stamped a flower and then did the rhinestones over it.  I am pretty happy with the results I got considering that I've only worked with rhinestones less than a handful of times.

The nail color is Metallic 4 Life  by OPI, and I stamped with Sally Hansen Silver Sweep InstaDri polish.  I stamped with plates from my Red Angel collection.  I stamped the flower onto the thumbs (sorry no before pics on that, I forgot!) and then applied 3 green teardrop rhinestones to the leaves, one round stone to the bud, and then a number of the very tiny microbeads to the top of the flower.  I finished it off by using a green nail art striper over the stem of the flower.

The only thing that I didn't like about this mani was that stamping over the glitter polish caused the mani to look bumpier than I would normally like.  I really liked the look I achieved so I didn't let the grittiness bother me too much!

What do you think of this?  Do you like using rhinestones to decorate your manis?

  2. I really like this, but rhinestones are definitely out of my comfortzone too. I've only tried it once, and that was someone else who applied it for me (at a fair :D)
