A Selection of China Glaze Prismtics

Hey guys!  I have a few of the China Glaze Prismatic collection to share with you today.

I am going to be honest up front and tell you this collection is not for me one bit.  There isn't really anything wrong with the polishes at all, aside from being terribly hard to remove without getting glitter all over your skin, but I am just not very into these for some reason.  I wish I were because I think they look pretty on other people, but "blah" on myself.

But please don't let my personal opinion to not favor them put a damper on them for you!  I am in the minority in my non-preference for this collection.

Polarizen - Lamp
Polarizen - Sun
Polarizen is a silvery glitter with different colored slightly larger glitters throughout.  You only need 2 coats of these to cover enough to wear as a mani.  I think I might prefer using them to do sponged tips or something, so I haven't given up hope yet!

Prism - Lamp

Prism - Sun
Prism is probably my favorite of the three I am showing you guys today.  I like the purple/blue main color of this one, the colored glitter I think take away from it though.  I would prefer these without the multi-colored glitter...which is an odd thing for me to say cause usually I am a big fan of multi-glitters.

Ray-diant - lamp

Ray-diant - Sun
Ray-diant is my least favorite of the bunch I think.  Probably because the main color in it is gold, and many of you know how I am about gold polish.  It just isn't for me.  This one is similar to Polarizen but is more gold instead of silver.

So all in all I am definitely not feeling this collection unfortunately.  I really really wanted to love it!  I hope you all like it though!  It just isn't for everyone I guess.

Do you have any of the Prismatics collection?  Do you like them?

  1. I decided to give the entire Prismatic collection a miss after having seen swatches of them. I thought they were much more WOW than I think they are. Plus I think they're way too similar. :)

  2. That's funny, I have Ray-diant one right now. It looks more green to me with flecks of gold, red and purple. I'm wearing it over a metallic silver brown polish, then 1 coat iridescent flakies, then 1 coat Ray-dient. It reminds me of a Chinese dragon puppet. I want to try it over dark green.

  3. I'm not a fan of these either, but I do like Polarizen on you! Lovely swatches!

  5. I bought the whole collection on sort of an impulse (and because I got it cheap) and I'm not sorry, though I am still experimenting with how to wear them. Wearing them alone, with enough coats to make them opaque and completely nail-covering, makes me a little nuts because of the thickness. Someone suggested wearing them over black but since the black showed around the edges that drove me a little crazy. I think the trick to getting them to look best is a coordinating undercoat and one even, patient coat of the glitter.

  6. I'm not a fan, either, partially because I'm not that into a ton of glitter. I think the Sally Hansen Gem Crush polishes are prettier, anyway.

  7. They are very "meh" to me, too. I expected so much more :(
